Kira's Page

I used to teach Russian at the university level, and when I did, my students knew me as Ки́ра. I miss those days! But I created this page so I could keep in touch with all of you non-native speakers who are learning Russian today (teachers included!)
Send me links of you reading a passage before and after you complete this mini-course, or a link to a video of you singing (or speaking the lyrics of) one of the seven songs featured in Unlocking Russian Pronunciation, and I may post your videos here!
Be sure to include the first names of all the people in your video and your location and/or school affiliation if you have one. If you have audio files only, you could post them on YouTube with a title or still photo serving as the image and send me a url.
If you are reading a passage, please try to choose one that does not have copyright restrictions. May I suggest Pushkin's "Я вас любил: любовь ещё, быть может..." I've included it on this page for your convenience. It's a beautiful and beloved poem, expressing unselfish love, and it's short, and it contains lots of phonetic intricacies - it really does cover all the bases!
Looking forward to seeing what you guys do!!!
Я вас люби́л: любо́вь ещё, быть мо́жет…
Алекса́ндр Серге́евич Пу́шкин
Я вас люби́л: любо́вь ещё, быть мо́жет,
В душе́ мое́й уга́сла не совсе́м;
Но пусть она́ вас бо́льше не трево́жет;
Я не хочу́ печа́лить вас ниче́м.
Я вас люби́л безмо́лвно, безнаде́жно,
То ро́бостью, то ре́вностью томи́м;
Я вас люби́л так и́скренно, так не́жно,
Как дай вам Бог люби́мой быть други́м.
